Teams will be selected within a few days after tryouts. Once teams are set, coaches will be contacting the players to schedule a team meeting to go over the tournament schedule and finalize practice dates.
Print the confirmation email with players registration number (you will need this for tryout registration!), or download the digital card on your smartphone. *Note: Digital cards can only be accessed from a smartphone.
Print and NOTARIZE medical release form and bring to tryouts.

The age group that your child can play for during this upcoming season is determined by what their age will be prior to September 1st, 2020. A tool for determining this can be found by using our age calculator or by using the link below.

Once the first two steps are complete, you can now complete the West Florida Waves Online Registration tryout form by clicking the button below. You will be prompted to pay the $35 tryout fee upon submission of the form. This fee is Non-Refundable.

Answer: Yes, It is the West Florida Waves Volleyball Club policy that ALL players tryout out for their age group as defined by USAV.
Answer: The official policy of the West Florida Waves is that all players will tryout for their age group based on the USAV age definition chart included on this page regardless of their grade in school.
Answer: In general the Waves do not allow players to “play up” however if the player has shown that they have progressed beyond their age group and all coaches and directors involved agree that it is best for both the players and the teams there are exceptions made on a case by case basis.
Answer: Parents ultimately have the authority to decline the invitation to play up an age group
Answer: The directors at the Waves understand that the new age definitions and also circumstances have created situations where athletes are part of established age groups. They will always endeavor to do what is best for the players and the teams and realize that forcing a player to change age groups may not be in the best interest of the athletes. Each situation will be decided on a case by case basis based on the established Waves policies with all parties involved being a part of the outcome.
